The glass crown is based on the PH multi-screen system and has four extra screens inserted between the three basic screens - all seven produced in very delicate, but also strong, Italian borosilicate glass. The screens, which are made of clear glass, are treated to appear with alternative clear and matte panels, and are positioned so that the matte panels cover the clear panels below, so that the screens can spread the light in a more diffuse way, while maintaining an aperture-free, downward light distribution. In addition, a nice, round glass cup is placed at the top to prevent dust, etc. from falling into the lamp.
